ESIC extends New Amnesty Scheme, 2025 till 31 December 2026

What changed

ESIC has extended the New Amnesty Scheme, 2025 by three months. It now runs from 1 October 2026 to 31 December 2026.

  • The scheme first ran from 1 October 2025 to 30 September 2026.
  • Stakeholders asked for more time, and ESIC agreed to the extension.
  • The terms and conditions have not changed. They are still the ones in the original instructions, No. P-11/14/Amnesty Scheme/2023-Rev.II dated 24 July 2025.
  • The extension starts the day after the earlier deadline, so there is no gap in coverage.

The scheme covers two kinds of cases:

  • Withdrawal of criminal cases filed against insured persons and employers under the ESI Act, 1948.
  • Settlement of cases filed by employers under Sections 75 and 82 of the ESI Act, 1948.

Who it applies to

  • Employers covered under ESI who face criminal prosecution under the ESI Act.
  • Employers who have their own cases pending under Section 75 or Section 82.
  • Insured persons who face criminal cases under the ESI Act.

What to do

  • Check your pending cases. List any prosecutions, ESI Court disputes or appeals that involve your establishment.
  • Contact your ESIC Regional Office or Sub-Regional Office before 31 December 2026 if you want to use the scheme. The original July 2025 instructions set out the conditions and the documents needed.
  • Don't wait until the deadline. This is a short extension. The letter says nothing about any further extension.
